Hello Everybody: Chris Mazzio, Owner/Licensed Massage Therapist for the last 21 years @Body 1 Wellness. Today I wanted to shed a bit of light regarding Massage and Meditation. First off meditation is becoming the new rage; I love that our world is beginning to see the light, especially Americans. The body, mind, and soul from the beginning of time has always suppose to be one. Over many centuries of history, life, and experience we are all starting to share this concept.
Now, 21 years ago I started my business, Body 1 Wellness, with that montra in mind, the Body – Mind – and Soul are intertwined being one. Now to shed a little light. As a Massage Therapist we help individuals achieve just that. Picture this… you come into a Massage session, are instructed to lay on our table for 1 + hours in silence while a Therapist, initially, instructs you to breathe and relax. No outside noise whatsoever, just you, your therapist, light – calm music, and a focus on 1 simple thing, your breath. Now that is Meditation at it’s best. In a massage session you are connecting everything, your mind, body, and soul creating a great result, clarity through relaxation, stress relief, as well as inner peace.
As a Therapist when I do 6, 1 hour sessions a day, on some days… in essence I am meditating over people’s bodies cumulatively for 6 hours. Focusing on my breath, focusing on their body needs, creating harmonious peace for both of us combined. That in a nutshell of 6 hrs. a day for me and 1 hour a day, 1x a week is way more meditative than sitting for 20 – 30 minutes by yourself and just breathing. It’s good but not as good as the previous description, in the greater scheme of things.
So my point is this… out of the Statistics shown… roughly 62 percent of all Adult Americans have never once had a massage in their life. Don’t you think with all of the benefits connecting the mind, body, and soul along with feeling good, overall… isn’t it time to start engaging in getting massages.
They (massages) will truly change your life forever!!! They ARE NOT a luxury, They ARE a necessity for the Human body to live longer, fuller, and more connected.
Hope to see you soon,
Chris Mazzio (CEO, CFT, LMT) Body 1 Wellness
